The Ivy Northcote Road Brasserie is at 31-37 Northcote Road, SW11 1NJ, on the Battersea and Clapham border and about a seven-minute walk from Clapham Junction station, according to OpenTable. Go on a weekday at lunch or early evening for the cheaper set menus, and book ahead through the Ivy website or OpenTable.

What it is

It is an all-day modern British restaurant serving Ivy classics, with vegan and vegetarian options and a children’s menu. The Ivy’s own pitch is breakfast, leisurely lunches and elegant evenings. There is also a bar and lounge with counter seating, which suits a drink without a full meal. The Ivy lists it as open seven days a week. You can find the details on the Ivy’s page for the restaurant.

The building and a bit of history

The site is The Old Bank on Northcote Road. SquareMeal describes a former bank building with high ceilings, large windows and a mix of original and contemporary features. There is a front dining hall and a quieter rear section. Opulence magazine reported in July 2025 that the Ivy Collection would open here that September, billed as its 44th restaurant, with 103 jobs expected and locally sourced spirits and beers on the drinks list (Opulence). The original Ivy opened in 1917 in London’s West End.

What to order

Prices below come from the à la carte menu on the Ivy site and can change, so check the current menu.

  • Starters: roasted queen scallops (£16.50) or the twice-baked cheese soufflé (£12.50).
  • Mains: chicken Milanese with truffle sauce (£22.50), traditional fish and chips (£22.50), the Ivy classic shepherd’s pie (£20.25), teriyaki salmon (£25.95), monkfish and prawn Keralan curry (£26.95) or queen scallop and prawn linguine (£26.95).
  • Grill: roasted lamb rump (£25.50) or a 12oz rib-eye on the bone (£39.75).
  • Sides: on an earlier menu, triple-cooked chips were £6.25 and creamed spinach £6.50.

Cream tea and a champagne cream tea are also listed, all day. Sunday roasts have been served from 11am to 4pm alongside the à la carte, so confirm on the day.

What it costs

À la carte can feel steep: Tripadvisor reviewers say so, and give set menus better marks for value. SquareMeal puts the price band at £30 to £49 a head.

  • The Cool Britannia menu was advertised at two courses for £19.96, Sunday 11am to 6.30pm and Monday to Friday 11.30am to 6.30pm.
  • The Ivy Edition Vol. 3 was two courses for £34.95 or three for £42.95, Sunday to Friday from 11.30am, with a £6.95 grill supplement (Ivy Edition menu).

Set menus change often, so treat these as a guide.

When to go

Opening hours differ between listings, so check before you go. An earlier Ivy page gave breakfast daily, brunch on Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays from 11am to 4pm, and à la carte from 11.30am on weekdays and from 4pm at weekends. For the set menus, aim for a weekday lunch or early evening. Reviewers mention slower service and louder noise when the room is full, and one mentions poor acoustics, so pick a quieter slot if you want to talk.

Reviewers praise the decor, the atmosphere and the friendly service. OpenTable diners call the fitout stunning and the food beautifully presented, and it holds a 4.4 rating from 509 reviews there.

Booking

Book through the Ivy booking widget or OpenTable. Groups, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diners are catered for.

For after

Vagabond, at 4 Northcote Road, SW11 1NT, is a wine bar a five-minute walk from Clapham Junction station. Its own site mentions a secret garden open all year, and the bar is known for self-pour wine machines. Check that it is open before you head over: its details are on the Vagabond website.
